Sales & Marketing Executive

Location: London (remote; legal right to work in the UK required)

Type: Part-time (3 days/week)

Salary: £32-35k pro rata

Silver Press is an independent publisher that began from feminist perspectives in 2017, publishing landmark books such as Your Silence Will Not Protect You by Audre Lorde, The Debutante and Other Stories by Leonora Carrington and Space Crone by Ursula K. Le Guin. In 2024, we launched Spiral House, a new imprint exploring art, poetry, transformation and ways of knowing. Our most recent publishing includes books by Anne Carson, Trinh T. Minh-ha and Shulamith Firestone.

We are looking for an efficient, self-motivated, detail-oriented and exceptionally organised Sales & Marketing Executive to join our small team as we grow our publishing programme and global reach. This role is ideal for someone with some experience in the book trade, looking to play a key role in establishing strong sales and marketing operations at an independent publisher.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Working with UK, US and AUS sales and distribution teams: providing support and materials for Silver Press and Spiral House’s publishing in line with their scheduling.

• Handling invoicing and stock management for key trade orders.

• Metadata management: handling key title information and changes, and updating systems as required.

• Oversee ecommerce workflow: monitoring customer services and working with our ecommerce distribution.

• Events sales: handling invoicing and supply for events.

• Managing social accounts for Silver Press and Spiral House: driving brand recognition, audience engagement, and ecommerce. 

• Planning and executing email and social channel marketing: including content production, copy-writing, and scheduling.
